Batteries Are A Drag

It is far less wasteful to ship electrons to electric vehicles than for electric vehicles to carry around billions of tons of electric batteries all day long. Batteries cost thousands of dollars per vehicle, creative massive pollution during manufacturing, require frequent charging, grow weaker with time and use, are sensitive to ambient conditions, and require replacement.

Since batters do not create energy, both battery-powered and directly-powered electric vehicles require the same amount of electricity to be generated.
